    Built in 1937 and launched in January 1938, the Yarwood’s motor tug France Hayhurst was one of the first diesel tugs. Her restoration is still in progress, but she remains a much loved example of a great age of shipbuilding.

    Built in 1937 and launched in January 1938, the Yarwood’s motor tug France Hayhurst was one of the first diesel tugs. Her restoration is still in progress, but she remains a much loved example of a great age of shipbuilding.

    Built in Scotland in 1913 she spent part of her working life on the Mersey. Powered by a Triple Expansion steam engine with steam from a coal fired ‘Scotch’ boiler. Maintained and exhibited by Steam Tug Kerne Preservation Society Ltd.
